From Cobblestone Streets to Global Perspectives
Vilnius International School is host to over 500 students. We converge with our Lithuanian friends and colleagues to create a learning community tucked away in a quiet corner of Vilnius Old Town, but alert to the active vibe of this forward thinking city. The student population hails from over 40 countries. Approximately 60% hold Lithuanian passports. A significant proportion of the students in this cohort are dual citizens. Others are from expatriate families representing business professionals, diplomats and NGOs, most of whom are originally from European countries.

From the Nest
VIS hosted its 5th Changemaker Challenge, a Grade 9 co-curricular activity. The project follows a civic education and youth participation model, through which students learn how to identify community problems and develop solutions to challenges in the world around them. Special thanks to our guest judges from the United States: Erin Lewis, Executive Director of the Center for Innovation and Change at the University of Evansville, and Dr. Jeff Spanke, Associate Professor of English and Director of English Education at Ball State University.
Stork Talk at VIS: Building Community, One Interaction at a Time
Our no-phone policy has sparked a vibrant wave of community building among VIS students! Ms. Asta, our Upper School Principal, is thrilled to be fielding creative proposals from students and teachers, all aimed at fostering more in-person interaction. From band practice in the sound room to a Chopin concert celebrating Polish language and culture, chess matches with our physics teacher Mr. Paulo, and mindful coloring with Ms. Elena, the ideas keep flowing. We are incredibly proud to see our community transform a perceived challenge into a dynamic celebration of student initiative. It's a testament to the spirit of VIS!

Upcoming Events: Connect, Learn, and Celebrate
VIS prides itself in its traditions such as the September 1st celebration that brings our entire community together in the school courtyard. This event is sacred to VIS in that it signifies our confidence in the potential of all of our learners from the very beginning of their journey. .

Over the years, other events have evolved to mark our school year. These include the Fun Run for Charity in Bernadine Gardens, the Flea Market and Family Picnic, Model European Parliament Baltic Region, and most recently, the holiday laser show and mini-Week Without Walls.
