School life
We strive to create an environment that supports the learning, personal growth, wellbeing and safety of all members of the school community.
The school calendar keeps you updated on important events and is updated regularly. Also see the weekly newsletter to enrolled families.
We will take a break to celebrate Lithuania’s Independence on the 16th, and conserve energy needed for the last stretch of the winter months. EC supervision is available for Tuesday the 17th through Friday, the 20th; please contact your homeroom teachers for registration.
Classes resume on Monday, February 23rd.
Grade 11 and 12 students will take simulated mock exams in preparation for real exams coming up later in the year.
Grade 12 students will be invited to spend the morning on a journey back in time as we celebrate 100 days until graduation from VIS.
10.00 to 11.00 and 15.00 to 17.15
Grade 11 students will kick-off a new tradition of having a supervised overnight at VIS, with targeted activities to build community and purpose. After a rough week of mock exams, they deserve a little light hearted fun!
Our annual Early Childhood 3-way and Grades 1-5 Student-led Conferences are nearly upon us. During the conferences, students will share their work and accomplishments, giving them ownership over their learning. A parent’s role in the conference is to listen, ask questions, and offer feedback and support. It is important to attend the conference as it provides an opportunity to celebrate your child’s growth and success, as well as identify areas for improvement. Timetables will be shared closer to the event.
Tomas Šernas, the recipient of this year’s National Freedom Award, will be our guest speaker to commemorate March 11th, Independence Restoration Day. He will share his insights into the national customs and border patrol in today’s realities and recall his time of duty in the dawn of independence.

VIS will be closed for Lithuania’s Independence Restoration Day, a national holiday.
Please be on the lookout for your request for reenrolment sent to your email by OpenApply. Contact [email protected] with questions or concerns.
Grade 8 and 9 Spanish Club students will travel to Madrid and Barcelona with Mr. Dustan to experience the language and culture in real life.
As Lithuania celebrates the springtime return of storks from overwintering in the southern hemisphere, VIS Storks can show their school spirit and wear their black stork logo sweatshirts to mark the occasion. If you’ve outgrown yours, we will soon begin taking orders for a size up! We are currently in the process of designing stork t-shirts for warmer weather. Look for the new design, donation amounts, and order form next week.
We invite you to partake in a theatrical degustation. This year’s performance is a fusion of the classic, modern, gritty-hard-hitting and the humorous together on one plate. Students have selected the stories that they want to tell and we bring them together in a feast for the eyes. So whet your appetite for a fine dining fantasy of the stage. Information on tickets coming soon.

School holidays at Vilnius International School provide students with time to rest, recharge, and explore new interests. That said, we expect families to respect our school calendar and plan vacations accordingly. VIS has a rather short school year compared to international schools globally, please do not plan to withdraw students early for summer camps. Demonstrate that you take learning seriously by being our partners.
After-school activities at Vilnius International School offer students a chance to explore their interests, develop new skills, and build lasting friendships. From sports and arts to leadership programs and community service, there’s something for everyone.
These activities encourage creativity, teamwork, and personal growth in a fun and supportive environment. Students can discover new passions while gaining valuable experiences beyond the classroom.
Please note that breakfast and afternoon snacks are provided to Early Childhood learners only, while lunch is provided to all VIS students.
