Part-time University Counselor
Overview
Vilnius International School seeks a University Counselor. This is a dual role combining responsibilities for university guidance and student admissions testing.
Key Responsibilities
1. University and Career Counseling (Grades 11-12)
Program Implementation: Implement and manage the university guidance program for Grade 11 and 12 students.
Instruction: Conduct lessons on university selection, application procedures, meeting deadlines, and writing motivational letters/personal statements.
Application Support: Guide students through the application process, which includes collecting necessary documents, soliciting recommendations, liaising with universities for transcripts, and investigating financial aid options.
Engagement: Host university fairs, invite guest speakers, and stay current on admissions trends.
Career Development: Develop and introduce career exploration opportunities (e.g., job shadows, internships).
The ideal candidate must possess prior experience in university admissions, with a specific focus on the European university context. Fluency in both spoken and written English is essential. Required qualities include the ability to develop a strong rapport with students, as well as being highly organized, flexible, and possessing strong social skills. An understanding of IB and Cambridge International programmes is an advantage.
Start date: September 2026 with some flexibility.

Chief Accountant

Overview
Vilnius International School (VIS) is a well-established and financially stable K–12 international school serving more than 500 students from over 40 countries. We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Chief Accountant to lead the school’s financial operations and support sound financial decision-making.
Reporting to the Director and working closely with the Board, you will play a key role in ensuring the school’s financial sustainability while overseeing accounting, budgeting, reporting, compliance, payroll, and financial planning.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
Oversee accounting, payroll, cash flow management, and financial controls.
Prepare financial reports, analyses, and forecasts for the Director and Board.
Ensure compliance with Lithuanian accounting, tax, payroll, and regulatory requirements.
Manage reporting related to state and municipal education funding and other grants.
Improve financial processes, internal controls, and reporting systems.
Manage relationships with auditors, banks, insurers, and other external stakeholders.
Lead and support a small finance and accounting team.
What We Are Looking For
At least 5 years of experience in finance, accounting, audit, or financial management.
Experience as a Finance Director, Financial Controller, Chief Accountant, Audit Manager, Senior Auditor, or in a similar role.
Strong practical knowledge of Lithuanian accounting standards (VAS), tax legislation, payroll, and regulatory reporting.
Experience with budgeting, financial planning, and management reporting.
Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with modern ERP and accounting systems.
A university degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
Professional proficiency in both Lithuanian and English.
Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
