Arsenii

Arsenii is a standout 12th grade student with impressive achievements in both mathematics and physics. Over the past four years, Arsenii has garnered numerous awards in the prestigious national academic olympiad for both physics and mathematics, where he has taken 1st and 3rd places respectively. What sets Arsenii apart is not just his academic success, but his deep passion for learning through challenges which give him really hard problems to work on—ones that build on topics he already knows, but push him further. The olympiads provide platforms to apply his knowledge to real-world scenarios and complex puzzles.

Unlike traditional classroom settings that often employ rote memorization, Arsenii prefers learning that mirrors the work of real scientists, like the assigned  task of reinventing formulas for gases. He enjoys hands-on investigations and practical experiments that allow him to explore concepts through action and inquiry. His love for problem-solving and innovative thinking led him to construct his own rocket for his 10th grade personal rocket, and to programme his bedroom window blinds to open with the sunrise as “a nice way of waking up.”

Arsenii is also inspired by the power of interdisciplinary learning—where knowledge from different subjects intersects to solve real challenges. He believes that his academic university future will lie in diverse and personal approaches that encourage innovation and critical thinking and meaning. Arsenii is still choosing between his two top university options – either Cambridge for general engineering, or Delft for aerospace – for his envisioned future in plane or aerospace engineering, anti-air missiles, or even innovative product development for community collaboration.

Arsenii encourages upcoming 11th graders to follow their curiosity when choosing their academic paths in CIE and suggests picking A-level courses based on what they are genuinely interested in. He advises not just to follow what others are doing or what seems easy, rather to study what you love.

As he prepares for university, Arsenii hopes to continue combining his love for physics and math with a drive for solving real-world issues. His journey is an example of how curiosity, creativity, and a passion for learning can lead to excellence—and inspire younger students to follow in his footsteps.
