1^st – and 2^nd- graders worked on the 2 units of inquiry so far. One was dedicated to the concept of Time – students learned about various calendars and clocks belonging to different cultures and civilizations. On the left: students are working on the Calendars and clocks project. The other unit of inquiry is about continents, countries and the variety of habitats. On the right: students are presenting their project on tundra.

During the Countries and continents unit of inquiry, the students had to each make a presentation on their native country or any country they wanted to learn more about. The students then invited their parents to participate in the project. On the left: students and their parents presenting the project on Denmark. On the right (top): when doing the research on habitats, the students enjoyed the ice experiment to find out why the polar bear is never cold swimming in the icy water.
