2009-02-06: VIS is preparing to move! Vilnius International School has enjoyed five years tucked away in the cozy neighborhood of Turniskes, but the time has come for us to expand as, unfortunately, we have outgrown our present site. The current plan is for VIS to move to its new Old Town site in August 2009, just before the start of the school year. The new location is spectacular! We can not guarantee that the picturesque views of the churches and city sites will inspire genius in your child, but it will certainly contribute to the aura of scholarship and public service at the core of our program. The 2000-square meter facility will be equipped with a sport hall, music room and a spacious cafeteria with state-of-the-art cooking facilities. We will also have computer and science laboratories, not to mention access to Vilnius Old Town for additional exploration and discovery. The move will also enable us to greatly expand our English as an Additional Language Program. Beginning fall 2009, VIS will be able to accept students at all levels of English language acquisition into VIS primary and middle school programs. Please contact us if you are interested in EAL program specifics. Be sure to visit the PYP and Educational Programs buttons to learn more about our academic program of study. Information on school curriculum standards and units of study has been recently updated. Further questions about the curriculum will be directly addressed by the director, Rebecca Juras.
