Dan and Heidi told about how different characters are created for a story and answered the questions that VIS students had. Our students were so curious to learn about tools and techniques Dan uses to draw illustrations, to learn how illustrations are “put” into a book format and how long it takes to create a book.

 

For the past 12 years Daniel has illustrated over 100 titles. Daniel and Heidi have worked on 10 books together and have another 4 new titles that Heidi is currently writing.

Daniel has as well illustrated a book written by Brigita Jovaišienė, “Vincas the Puppy Travelling Around the World”. The puppy Vincas, a real inquirer, travels into the world of far-away lands and is curious to learn about new animals, plants, colours, flavours and whole cultures.

 

We would like to thank Brigita Jovaišienė for organizing this meeting at VIS and donating the “Vincas the Puppy Travelling Around the World” book to VIS library. We also thank Daniel for donating the books with his illustrations to our school and are looking forward to seeing the Howarth family next year!
